My newest rose is called "TINY FAIRY" it is a micro mini rose. It started blooming and I have posted a couple of pictures of it on the garden page. It is loaded with buds, so there will be more pictures coming. I have started working in the mini garden again, well it's really more like playing, except for the weeding. I wish the elfin thyme I planted for grass would start spreading, it would look better. Today I am taking out some more of the people I have made, now finding places for them is playing.

I have not posted for a while because I have been working in the garden till I am so tired all I want to do is clean up and go to bed. Planting, weeding, watering. I just want to sit back and enjoy it but first I have to get everything planted. We have repaired two old benches and put them in the garden the other day and they look nice. You can see one of them on the Garden page. Richard is going to be residing the greenhouse soon, when it is finished I will post before and after pictures. Right now it looks really bad and it is a prominent feature there, it has ruined many of my pictures.
I have an old rose I got from my grandmother and will be moving it where it can be appreciated this week. It was introduced in about 1910 and is called Dr Van Fleet. I love this rose! It smells wonderful and is very pretty, I just wish it bloomed all summer. I saw one while I was driving the other day and this afternoon there was one in my garden. He found the pintas I am going to plant in my big pots. I have posted one of the pictures I took of him on the garden page. I always plant pintas for them it's a good nectar plant. I hope we don't have the same problem that Texas had and run out of milkweed. I have several tropical milkweed plants but my native plants aren't very tall yet.
I also posted a picture of my yellow tree peony blossom, it is pretty, even though there is just the one blossom. Maybe next year there will be more. I have three different colors of clematis blooming, maybe I should take some pictures of them too. I replanted some of the grass in the labyrinth this spring and it is looking good. Soon I will be posting new pictures of the labyrinth too. Last night we got just under 2 inches of rain. Today the wind has been horrible, I hate the wind. Tonight there is still the threat of storms. I am hoping they all miss us. Yesterday I planted a micro mini rose beside the house in the big miniature garden, it has 4 or 5 buds on it. When it blooms I will post some pictures of it. I need to make a better cover for it too, the one I made is a lot of trouble. I am trying to convince Richard to weld a better one that would also look better. he is a man of many talents and can weld.
I have read that the monarchs are running out of milkweed in Texas, spring has been too early and the milkweed has not grown enough. I hope we will have enough for them when they get here. I do have several tropical milkweed plants. My native milkweed is just over a foot tall right now, it's going to need to speed up that growing. The miniature garden ( the surprise) is coming along and I have posted pictures of it. It is a big garden and may one day have a train. I still have a lot of work to do there, I need to build sidewalks, stairs, little signs and more people. Yes, I am making my own people. I sit and make them at night while we watch TV. They are small the tallest are just over 2 inches so I have decided not to give them faces, I kind of like them that way. You will notice in the pictures that it is covered with bird netting, over blue hoops. That is because I have cats that live in my garden, and you know what fresh turned soil is to them. They can be a challenge for all of my gardening. I have thought about adding a page about it and calling it Gardening With Cats. I have several tips I could share from my years of experience. Richard has been working hard on the brick sidewalk and it is looking good. I have also posted pictures of that, so be sure to check out the Garden page to look them over. Oh! I fixed the picture problem by using Richards camera, it works fine.
Yes I promised pictures, I thought I would have them up before now. The problem is my camera, it won't talk to my computer anymore. I did have a printer I could put the disk in and transfer them over to the computer now the printer is dead. I am hoping to get the situation fixed this weekend. Work is really coming along in the garden and I want to get some new pictues up soon.
The brick path is coming along nicely, I will take some pictures tomorrow and post them. our cat Lilly was running along the path as she does every day, when she suddenly stopped and looked back at all the new brick. That path had been dirt the last time she ran down it, I wonder what she thought about it.
I have been busy in the new garden bed, I am keeping it a secret a while longer. When I am finished with it I will take some pictures of it and post too. Yesterday Richard started work on a new garden path. It is made of brick and is looking good. I will try and post some pictures of it soon. I began work on the new bed and I hope it will be done in a few days. I will need to make another trip to a good greenhouse first.
